So, it’s been just about 4 months since my ex broke up with me. I’m pretty okay with it and i dont feel the need to fight for him so often anymore. And the fact that he found someone new only e few weeks after we broke up doesn’t bother me all that much anymore. But one thing i have been thinking about is; our memories keep poppin up in my head and i get sad cause it was OURS and they will never be relavent again. Even when i find someone new they will be my second (my ex was my first boyfriend and first of all that stuff). But does it stop or how do i learn to cope with these facts? Or do i just have to accept that it is how it is and someday it wont matter?

@blessing05 – I’m so sorry for you and I know how it feels. New memories with a new love will be stronger and overshadow the former memories with your first love. But sometimes the older memories will come to mind. And those old memories won’t make you sad anymore because making memories with a new love will be more joyful and exciting than you can imagine .. You have to accept that your first love moved on, but it will always matter because it was a time in your life when you gave and received precious love and that wonderful memory will never be erased.
    May God bless you always..

When you have a real loving relationship with someone, you collect so many memories, photographs, items, etc. that you happen on later on in life at random times and no matter how long it has been, they will just stop you in your tracks.

30 years from now a special song will throw up memories. Or you will find something in the back of a drawer. It doesn’t matter how long it has been. It just doesn’t hurt as much as it used to and doesn’t cause you to feel depressed for the rest of the day.

When it is fresh, one thing can ruin your whole day. But after time, it is more of a numb feeling where the feeling comes, you understand it, and then it passes and you go on.
